Sugar Lime Blue is not just a band-it's an experience. For over a decade, this genre-defying group has been creating music that resonates deeply, blending elements of Americana, blues, folk, country, and jam band grooves into a sound uniquely their own. With a reputation for electrifying live shows and heartfelt recordings, Sugar Lime Blue has established itself as a cornerstone of the modern roots music scene.
The band's latest release, The Blackbird Sessions, marks a pivotal moment in their journey. Recorded at the iconic Blackbird Studio in Nashville, TN, the album bridges the past and future, showcasing the band's resilience and growth. Beginning production just before the COVID-19 pandemic, the project faced an emotional setback with the loss of founding bassist Russ Dean in 2020. Despite this, Ashley and Dave Beth, the heart and soul of the band, remained steadfast, enlisting the talents of bassist Joe Bass (Brian Howe) and keyboardist Scott Guberman (Phil Lesh) to see the album through. The addition of Luis "Slice" Echeverria on keys and Ikaika Pekelo on drums further revitalized the band, both on the record and during their multi-state tours.
