Monte has been playing in and around Oklahoma City since 2019. Members Noah Petrie (guitar, vocals), Sam Stormer (guitar), Michael Birney (drums), Rachel Bandy (bass, trumpet, keyboard), and Santana Spangler-Day (violin, bass, keyboard) collaborate to write and perform all-original tunes. The band takes inspiration from a wide range of genres, including progressive rock, math rock, jazz, folk, experimental, and classical.
Monte's latest album is out now!
Featuring ten tracks of gritty, blues-tinged progressive rock, Monte's second full-length album explores a harder sound than it's predecessor. Warmly distorted guitars and aggressive rhythms abound, while rumbling bass keeps the band grounded. Contributions from violin and trumpet add to a complex array of tones. Sloptown evokes its titular muck without a sloppy performance.
